Give me my sword!? Who knows what I'm doing?

13 years of growing my hair

13 Years have now passed since I had a side cut and decided that I wanted long hair.

I cut all of my hair to the same length (0,5 cm, so a little shorter than in the picture), but kept bangs to have less of a buzz cut. But since I hate having bangs, so I soon cut them off too.

Back then I used a really dull scissor to cut my hair and would continue to do so for years.

Don't ask me why, but I bleached my hair... Above is the "carrot phase".

 Blond and abused hair.

And of course, I soon missed having black hair.

I decided to for the last time in my life, bleach my hair, before dying it red and then go back to black once and for all. And thus the "carrot phase" again.

I also used to let a friend heat style my hair.

I really enjoyed red hair, but what a hassle to keep it red!

After I had to wash it with some special stuff before surgery, most of the dye washed out and I decided to let the bleached hair grow out and slowly cut it away before dying it black.

Before jumping in to the shower to do my first CO-wash.

This is what my natural hair color looked like after a year of CO-washing and when most of the bleach had been cut away.

I decided to never again use chemical dyes again and wanted to be a henna head for a while, before starting the process of getting it black with indigo.

The process of getting it black. It took some time and effort, but it was worth it. Also, my hair finally started to get longer for real, now that I now longer mistreated it.

Black again.

6 cm left to knee! I'm hoping to reach it by the end of the year.

Although my hair would have been a lot longer if I would have taken as good care of it all the way, as I'm doing today. I have no regrets! I had a lot of fun trying different colors and doing stuff with my hair! Now I can grow it without any temptations!

Stockholm!

Yesterday I had a great time with a friend in Stockholm! Here are som pictures.

Hair length update

I trimmed my hair two days ago and it's now 124 cm. Knee length should be around 130 cm, so six months to go?

I will hopefully reach knee by the end of the year. Next year I will microtrim to thicken up my hemline.

I've done a lot of S&D this last year. So while my ends are thinner, my hair is starting to feel amazing! Soft and silky! My hair care routine is really getting right for me now! I will share it some day.

Succesful wash!

Does anyone remember or did anyone even reed my rant about going over from CO-washing to herbal washes?

Well, I've finally succeded! I've now done two succesfull washes and feel that I can share it.

I used black fermented rice water and herbs. These are the same ingredients that I use in my hair masks and I still use it as a mask.

I will share the recepie in another post soon, but here's what I did.

Oily hair before.

  • I put the mask in my hair.
  • Put on a shower cap and towel.

  • Heated the sauna and took a sauna.
  • Added some more of the hair mask and massaged the scalp.
  • Rinsed it out with water while massaging the scalp more.
  • Did a diluted apple cider vinegar rince.
  • Towel dried my hair by gently squeezing out the water.

  • Let it air dry
The result!

My hair got perfectly clean, but a little bit dry and static. So I sprayed some homemade detangling spray in it and added some oil. It's now clean, soft and silky!

I will continue with this method! But I will still do CO-washes after dying it with henna and indigo, to really get the indigo out of my hair.

Hair and some stuff

It's very hot here lately. But at least it doesn't take six hours for my hair to dry.

Also, my hair used to be straight. What happened? It looks more like 1c or 2a lately...

I have several posts planned, but I've been busy. So here's something cute as compensation.

Today's hairstyle and a new hair toy 03/06-20

I got a new hair slide today and since it's so small. I wanted to come up with an updo for it, rather than just jusing it for accent braids for the first test. So this is it!
